We are thrilled to introduce a new member of our team! Devin Schwaibold has recently joined the group as the sole representative of our fourth (!) grad student cohort.
Devin hails from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and joins us after completing a bachelors degree in chemistry at Southeastern Louisiana University in 2024. As an undergraduate student, Devin did research at SLU with Prem Chanda. He also participated in REUs at Louisiana State University (with Fatima Rivas) and in our department at Penn State (with Ray Schaak).
He moved to Penn State after graduation to begin his PhD in chemistry, joining our group for a fall rotation and accepting an official position in the lab in December.
Devin wrote for and earned an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship as an undergraduate student (!), and was awarded a University Graduate Fellowship from the Fox Graduate School at Penn State in support of his PhD studies. Devin is spearheading new directions for our lab on the nanosynthesis project.
Welcome, Devin! We can't wait to see what you accomplish here at Penn State!
